過去進行式等同於現在進行式。由現在轉移到過去式。
一：已經
had +Ving（完成式）.....when+過去式（表示已經）
ex:I had done my homework when he called(前者先完成）
二：當時正在
was(were)+Ving.....when+過去式（當時正在）
ex:I was doing my homework when he called（前者較早發生）
三：當時打算將
was(were)going to+原Ｖ
ex:I was going to meet you when he called(原本要去看你，結果電話來了）
四：當時總是，抱怨之詞
was always (constantly)+Ving
He was always using my computer(他當時總是使用我的電腦）
五：當時暫居
I was living with with my parents(我當時和父母暫居在一起）
六：當時漸漸
The flower was dying(當時漸漸枯萎）
The weather was gatting hot and hot(當時間漸變熱了）
七：Ｉ was doing fine
現在完成式
Ｓ＋have(has)+Vpp
一：肯定：Ｉ have cleaned the room
二：否定：Ｉ have not cleaned the room
三：疑問：Have you cleaded the room
四：和ＥＶＥＲ ＮＥＶＥＲ 連用，表示到現在為止的經驗。
Ｈave you ever eaten raw fish before?
No,I have never eaten raw fish
五：我昨天已經看了那部電影
完成式不和過去時間副詞（如昨天）連用。但可以和今天或最近連用（ex:I have ready newspapers this morning)
I have seen the movie
I saw it yesterday
六：just只能和現在完成式與過去式連用， just now(剛才）只能和過去式
Ａ：Ｉ have (just) come back
Ｂ：I (just) came back
Ｃ：Ｉcame back just now
七： have（has) gone to~去到
have(has)been to~去過
八：Ｓ＋have(has)+Vpp......since(S+ 過去式V）
ex:He has lived here since his father died
ex:It has been 2 months since.............
=It is(可用現在式代替） 2 months since..............
九：最高級Ｐ138~J
It is the first time she has fallen in love
She is the most beautiful girl i have ever seen (到現在為止的經驗）
十：由if ，when ，before ，after ，as soon as等引導的時間副詞子句，以現在完成式來代替未來完成式，避免重複。Ｐ138~H
ex:He will call you back as soon as he has finished his work
